Hall Co. firefighters respond to storm-related incidents
By Katie Crumley Access Insider
UNDATED - Heavy thunderstorms that moved through North Georgia Monday afternoon kept Hall County firefighters busy responding to house alarms that were set off by the severe weather, non-serious traffic accidents and a residential fire caused by a lightning strike on Whitmire Drive.
"It did result in a minor fire inside the home but it was relatively minor damage," said Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell.
Kimbrell said no one was injured in the incident.
He said there was also a report of three people on a boat who were knocked overboard by the high winds in the area of Old Federal Park.
"While we were putting the team together and responding, we got other reports that they had recovered the people out of the water and were back in the boat without any damage," said Kimbrell.
