War Eagles run win streak to 9
OAKWOOD - The Chestatee boys basketball team now owns the longest win streak in Hall County.
The War Eagles ran their win streak to nine games Saturday night after rallying for an 81-72 win over West Hall.
East Hall had the longest running win streak at 36 but fell to Whitefield Academy 106-94 Saturday night on the road.
Senior Corey Black poured in a season-high 36 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lead Chestatee (14-8) to the win. Black also went over the 1,000 point mark for his career.
Jesus Cantu added 17 and Parker Smith 11 for the War Eagles.
West Hall (9-11) has now lost four of its last five games after a tremendous start to the season. Maurice Tabor led the Spartans with 23 points and Jarvis Neal added 12.
The third quarter was the difference as Chestatee outscored the Spartans 22-10 to take a 56-51 lead. The War Eagles maintained their lead the rest of the way.
Chestatee will travel to surging White County Tuesday night in a Region 7-AAA West battle. The Warriors have won four straight games.
