DEMOREST - The Chestatee/Chattahoochee RC&D Council will host the North Georgia Forest Landowner Field Day at the Georgia Forestry Commission Hightower State Forest at Dawsonville on September 19.

Starting at 8:00, it will target landowners, both farmers and non-farmers in Hall and 12 other counties, wishing to improve their conservation land management efforts by utilizing programs available through USDA and other agencies.

Targeted population includes, but is not limited to, underserved forest landowners in northeast Georgia who are unfamiliar with the programs and opportunities available through USDA.

The RC&D secured a grant to hold two of these forest field days: the one on Sept. 19 in Dawsonville and one planned Oct. 19 in Elbert County.
