Family Fun Fest draws crowd to Clarkesville

CLARKESVILLE - The Habersham County United Way held its annual Family Fun Fest Saturday in Clarkesville.
The event is United Way's biggest fundraiser and includes entertainment, carnival games and food, culminating in a 10-minute fireworks show.
Opening up the entertainment was singer Gina Gailey, nominee for Georgia Country Female Artist of the Year 2014.
Habersham County United Way supports 25 agencies, including: 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts Northeast Georgia Council, Challenged Child ... And Friends, Circle of Hope, Clarkesville Library, Cornelia Library, Children's Center for Help and Healing, Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, Foothills Counseling, Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, Habersham Christian Learning Center, Habitat for Humanity, Habersham Homeless Ministries, Habersham County Homework Centers, Grace Gate, Northeast Georgia CASA, Powerhouse for Prevent Child Abuse Habersham, Rape Response, Red Cross Northeast Georgia Chapter, Senior Center, Sharing and Caring, Victory Home, and Volunteers for Literacy.
United Way officials say 99 cents out of each dollar raised is used to serve Habersham County residents.
