Man charged for leaving explosive device in Buford driveway
BUFORD - A Gwinnett County man faces several charges for allegedly leaving a makeshift bomb in a Buford Driveway.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, 28-year-old Ryan Michael Derose had been arguing with his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend the night before the device was discovered on Pine Log Way.
The current couple shared a home on that street.
Investigators described it as a can filled with shotgun shells and lighter fluid, wrapped in electrical tape. Authorities began the investigation two weeks ago.
The AJC quoted a police report where the responding officer indicated the device was a crude but potentially destructive bomb.
Derose remained in the Gwinnett County jail on Friday.
