New Clermont daycare center gets go-ahead with state license
By Brian Stewart Staff
CLERMONT - The site of the former Discovering Basics daycare center is under new ownership, which has officially received its state license to operate under the new name of Joyland Child Development Center North.
Owner Tina McConnell and her husband Stephen operate Joyland Child Development Center on Rainey Street, and closed on the new property in late June.
The new facility will be able to serve 91 children.
McConnell said her site director has been at the facility talking to applicants, and she said teachers are on standby as children begin to enroll.
Now that the facility's license has been approved, they can begin searching for new clients.
Discovering Basics closed after a child allegedly sustained burns that the care providers reported as bug bites.
