Softball: Buford moves to 3-0 with win over Loganville

FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Buford softball team posted six runs in the top of the fourth to put away Loganville 10-3 on Wednesday in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational tournament at Flowery Branch High.

Kennedy Kotula earned the win in the pitching circle for the Lady Wolves (3-0), her second of the season. Kotula pitched 6 innings (due to time limit) in a complete game effort that saw her allow 6 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out four.

Senior Sydney Stavro led Buford at the plate, going 4 for 4 with a triple, 3 RBI, 1 run scored and 2 stolen bases, while Kotula went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Drew Puckett also went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored, and Brianna Gutierrez was 1 for 2 with an 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Buford will continue play in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational Tournament at 6 p.m. Friday against Parkview at Flowery Branch High School.
