GDOT announces NE Ga. road maintenance plans for next week

GAINESVILLE The Georgia Department of Transportation Friday announced routine maintenance plans in northeast Georgia next week.

WHEN: Crews will work Monday, August 11 through Friday, August 15. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits. Lane closures are required for patching asphalt, a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.

WHAT & WHERE:

Dawson A crew will trim vegetation and clean the intersections along SR 183 and SR 136. Lanes will be closed as intersections are cleaned.

Forsyth A crew will mow the slopes alongside SR 306 and SR 369. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will remove and replace damaged asphalt on SR 369 at Six Mile Creek. A lane closure and shoulder closure is required as this work occurs.

Gwinnett A crew will remove overgrown vegetation along SR 10/US 78 and SR 316 while also cleaning the shoulders of the roadway. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will repair concrete drainage structures alongside SR 124 and SR 20, lane closures are possible with this work.

Hall A crew will mow the slopes in the alongside SR 52. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will repair shoulders alongside SR 60, the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Banks A crew will be trimming vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 15/US 441. This work requires the shoulders to be closed

Elbert A crew will trim vegetation growing alongside SR 77 and SR 72. This work requires the shoulders to be closed.

Franklin A crew will remove damaged asphalt and lay new asphalt on SR 51, a lane closure is required as this work occurs. The slopes alongside SR 51 will be mowed, closing the shoulder as this occurs. The ditches along SR 106 will be repaired and damaged section of asphalt will be removed on SR 106. A lane closure will be in place as this occurs.

Hart A crew will clean drainage structures for SR 51, SR 77 and SR 77 Connector.

Madison A crew clean spray overgrown vegetation with herbicide alongside SR 8, SR 98 and SR 106. A lane and the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Stephens A crew seal cracks in the driving surface of SR 184. A lane and the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Clarke A crew will trim the vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 15/US 441. The shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Jackson A crew will be repairing the rutting alongside on SR 335. A lane closure is required as this work occurs. Another crew will rebuilt the shoulders alongside SR 332, the shoulder and a lane will be closed as this work occurs. Litter pickup is planned for SR 11/US 129, SR 15 Alternate, SR 82 and SR 53.

Oconee A crew will reset the grade of the shoulders adjacent to SR 10/US 78. A lane and shoulder closure is required as this work occurs.

Walton A crew will trim vegetation growing in the rights of way alongside SR 20 and SR 138. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Habersham A crew will mow the rights of way alongside SR 385.

Lumpkin A crew will repair rutting that has developed along the edge of SR 9 south towards Dawson County then on SR 115/Long Branch. The shoulder of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs.

Rabun - A crew will repair the damaged driving surface on the SR 28 Bridge over the Chattooga River at the State Line. One lane closure will be in place as work occurs, a flagger will direct traffic through the work zone. Another crew will replace damaged guardrail on SR 246 and SR 15/US 441.

Towns A crew will trim vegetation growing in rights of way alongside SR 17, SR 515 and SR 288. The shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Union A crew will mow the rights of way on SR 11. The shoulders will be closed as the work occurs.

White A crew will mow the rights of way on SR 115. The shoulders will be closed as the work occurs. Another crew will restripe faded pavement markings as needed on state routes in the County.
