FLOWERY BRANCH - A portion of Spout Springs Road was closed Friday morning while officers investigated a suspicious package found at the intersection of Holland Dam Road.

Flowery Branch Police Chief David Spillers said his officers discovered the package around 5 a.m. sitting in the concrete roadway divider between Publix and Stonebridge Shopping Center.

The bomb squad from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to assist in the investigation.

Spillers said the device, which was wrapped in tin foil, was some type of electronic security device.

Spout Springs Road was re-opened just after 7 a.m.
