Concerned motorists nab intoxicated Suwanee mom
SUWANEE - Two concerned motorists in Gwinnett County are getting credit for stopping a drunk driver in the Suwanee area over the weekend - a driver who had her young son in the back seat of her car.
Leena Mithani, 44, was traveling on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near McGinnis Ferry Road when two motorists saw her driving erractically, according to a report on Fox 5 News. They boxed her in to make her stop. One of the motorists, George Hokett, told the television station he was afraid the woman would hurt or kill someone.
"I noticed the car traveling sort of on the sidewalk in a ditch," said Hokett.
He said he and a man in a pickup truck followed Muthani and forced her to stop the vehicle when they boxed her in from the front and back.
Muthani reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was charged with DUI and child endangerment. Her 8-year-old son was not hurt in the incident.
Police said the incident occurred just after midnight Saturday.
