G-Braves, RailRiders Suspended by Rain
LAWRENCEVILLE – Heavy rains and wet field conditions forced the suspension of tonight’s game between the Gwinnett Braves and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the top of the third inning. The game will be resumed on Thursday, July 24 at 11:00 AM with the RailRiders batting with two outs in the third and leading 8-0.
Following the completion of the nine-inning game and a half-hour break, both clubs will play a seven-inning game to complete the four-game series.
Right-hander Carlos Fisher (1-0, 0.56) will be on the mound for Gwinnett when the game resumes, while Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will have left-hander Nik Turley (0-2, 6.14) throwing out of the bullpen. Right-hander Terry Doyle (1-1, 3.44) will start game two for the G-Braves. The RailRiders have not yet named a game two starter. Tony Schiavone will have the play-by-play call beginning at 10:50 AM on WDUN.com, GwinnettBraves.com, Tune-In Radio and the MiLB First Pitch app.
Thursday is Belk Day Care Day at Coolray Field as day cares and summer camps from around Gwinnett County join the Gwinnett Braves for day baseball.
