Gainesville man given life for rape, false imprisonment

GAINESVILLE - Johnny Marlow, 64, of Gainesville was convicted today by a Hall County jury for the August 11, 2013, rape and false imprisonment of a 24-year-old homeless woman at his Sun Valley Road residence in Oakwood.
Senior Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Bagwell prosecuted the case for the state before Superior Court Judge Andrew Fuller.
Marlow was sentenced as a recividist due to prior convictions of forgery and federal income tax evasion.
According to District Attorney Lee Darragh, Marlow was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the rape conviction and 10-years to serve concurrent on the charge of false imprisonment.
