NGTC's Rice wins Lisa White Spiering Legacy Scholarship
CLARKESVILLE - Tina Rice, a Cosmetology Diploma graduate from North Georgia Technical College’s Blairsville campus, was recently awarded a Lisa White Spiering Legacy Scholarship from The International Dermal Institute.
The scholarship is granted to the most "passionate, gifted" newcomers to the world of professional skin care.
A panel at the International Dermal Institute headquarters in Los Angeles reviews all submissions and agrees on up to ten recipients per IDI calendar term (3 times a year). Each Legacy Scholarship has an estimated dollar value of $1,600 for 100 hours of education at The International Dermal Institute. Rice is believed to be the first winner of this scholarship in Georgia.
Rice graduated from the NGTC Cosmetology program in May, 2014 as an honor graduate and member of the National Technical Honor Society. A resident of Epworth, she is currently employed as a skin therapist at Lisa Mitchell Hair Design in Blue Ridge.
