Horse show to benefit domestic violence shelters in the area
By Ken Stanford Staff
GAINESVILLE - The 13th Annual "Ticket to Ride Benefit Horse Show" will be held July 18-20 at Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta and will benefit regional domestic violence shelters - including Gainesville's Gateway Domestic Violence Center.
Each year the show brings together several exhibitors, sponsors and equestrians from across the Southeast.
Harry Norman, REALTORS Forsyth/Lake Lanier Office is sponsoring the event. Last year, with over 170 horses competing, the show brought in more than $12,000 that was donated to regional domestic abuse shelters, including Gateway.
This goal for this year’s event is $25,000. The funds raised will benefit Gateway as well as Forsyth County’s Family Haven, Douglas County’s Share House, and Dawson and Lumpkin County’s No One Alone Shelter.
Five hours are set aside for the event on Friday and 12 hours each Saturday and Sunday:
Friday, July 18: 3 – 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 19: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday, July 20: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
