Fugitive apprehended, in custody in Gwinnett County

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County Sheriff's officials and the US Marshals SE Regional Fugitive Task Force have apprehended a fugitive that has been on the run since November of 2013.
According to a post on the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, 23-year-old Alejandro Velasquez was wanted on outstanding warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery by disfiguring, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and participation in criminal gang activity.
Authorities searched a home on Herndon Road in Lawrenceville today and found Velasquez hiding in the attic, according to the Facebook post.
The post also says Velasquez was taken in to custody without incident. He is currently in the Gwinnett County jail, held without bond.
