GAINESVILLE - Stephanie Lopez, a rising senior at Chestatee High School, who also attends Lanier Charter Career Academy (LCCA) where she is studying cosmetology, placed seventh in Esthetics at the recent SkillsUSA National Leadership competition. There were 27 other teams from across the country entered. Deisi Pizano, a recent graduate of Chestatee and former cosmetology student was her model.
The conference was a showcase of career and technical education students — all first-place state contest winners — competing hands-on in 103 different trade, technical and leadership fields.
“We are very proud of Stephanie’s and Deisi’s accomplishments. They worked extremely hard and did an outstanding job!” said Janice Laster, Cosmetology Instructor at LCCA.
