LULA - A Commerce man died as a result of injuries from a motorcycle wreck in Banks County Tuesday night.

Sgt. 1st Class Chad Johnson of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville said 18-year-old Jacob Lamar Bullock succumbed to injuries after being airlifted to Gwinnett Medical Center.

The wreck involving Bullock's black 2002 Suzuki GSX 750 occurred at 8:38 p.m. on Antioch Road, 0.4 mile south of Georgia Highway 51 near Lula.

"Bullock lost control while attempting to negotiate a slight curve," Johnson said.

Bullock's motorcycle traveled off into a yard at 441 Antioch Road.

The motorcycle slid onto its left side then overturned numerous times, Johnson said.

"Speed was a factor," Johnson said.
