ATLANTA – Projects in Hall, Jackson and Gwinnett counties are among those included in the latest round of contract awards by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
In all, the list includes $85 million in new transportation infrastructure improvements statewide.
The Hall County project calls for traffic signal upgrades at various locations, and includes installation of intersection Video Detection Systems (VDS).
The project in Jackson County is for intersection improvements on U.S. 129/S.R. 11 at Old Pendergrass Road and at Dickerson Drive. It also includes installation of VDS.
In Gwinnett County, a new $4.4 million overpass will widen and carry Walther Boulevard near Lawrenceville over State Route 316. The new overpass will feature a center turn lane, bike lanes and a sidewalk. It will be built by a Barrow County company, G.P.’s Enterprises, Inc., of Auburn.
