CLARKESVILLE - More than three and one-half years after a wreck that claimed the life of 5-year-old Haley Jade Robinson of Demorest, a driver has been indicted in the case.
Bryan James Daniels was indicted Monday for first-degree vehicular homicide, driving on wrong side of roadway, driving while license suspended, and reckless driving in the 2010 wreck in rural Habersham County, court documents filed at 3:30 p.m. show.
Daniels, also known as "B.J.", was listed in victim's obituary as the father of Haley Jade Robinson Daniels.
The first-degree vehicular homicide indictment charges that while driving a 1997 Honda Civic on Georgia Highway 384 (Duncan Bridge Road), Daniels caused the death of the girl through the violation of reckless driving "in that he did drive said motor vehicle in reckless disregard for the safety of persons and property, when he drove said vehicle on the wrong side of the roadway and drove said motor vehicle at a high rate of speed and collided with a Toyota Tacoma truck which was traveling in the opposite lane of the highway," court documents show.
Four other people were hurt in the wreck, that occurred around 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, near Pea Ridge Road.
