Short work week ahead for GDOT crews, but some routine maintenance scheduled

GAINESVILLE - Next week will be a short work week for Georgia Department of Transportation crews but some routine maintenance in north Georgia is planned.

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures.

WHEN: Crews will work Monday, June 30 through Thursday, July 3. July 4 is a Holiday. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits. Lane closures are required for patching asphalt, a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.

WHERE and WHAT:

Habersham - A crew will mow, trim weeds and spray overgrown vegetation at each intersection on SR 15/US 441. Shoulders and a lane will be closed as this work occurs.

Lumpkin A crew will mow the rights of way on SR 11 and SR 9. The shoulder will be closed as the work occurs. Another crew will repair the drainage system alongside SR 60 Business in Dahlonega, the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will repair edge rutting alongside the edge of pavement on SR 115. A lane will be closed as this work occurs. Drainage structures along SR 52 will also be repaired, the shoulder will be closed for this work.

Rabun - A crew will mow, trim weeds and spray overgrown vegetation at each intersection on SR 15/US 441. Shoulders and a lane will be closed as this work occurs.

Towns A crew will mow the rights of way on SR 180. The shoulders will be closed as the work occurs.

Union A crew will mow the rights of way on SR 11 and SR 348. The shoulders will be closed as the work occurs.

White A crew will mow the rights of way on SR 11. The shoulders will be closed as the work occurs. Another crew will repair edge rutting alongside the edge of pavement on SR 284 and SR 115. A lane will be closed as this work occurs.

Dawson A crew will mow the slopes alongside SR 136 and SR 52. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Forsyth A crew will mow the slopes alongside SR 306 and SR 369. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will repair rutting that has developed adjacent to the edge of pavement on SR 369. A lane closure and shoulder closure is required as this work occurs.

Gwinnett A crew will mow alongside SR13 and SR 140. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will repair drainage structures on SR 317, a lane closure is required as this work occurs. Another crew will pick up trash and litter along state routes throughout the County.

Hall A crew will mow alongside SR 52 and SR 284. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Banks A crew repair the shoulders alongside SR 59 and SR 105. A lane will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will repair the driving surface of the SR 326 Bridge over the Hudson River at the Banks Franklin County Line. A lane closure on the bridge is required as this work occurs.

Elbert A crew will trim vegetation growing alongside SR 77 Spur and SR 72. This work requires the shoulders to be closed.

Franklin A crew will mow the shoulders and slopes alongside SR 326. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Hart A crew will remove vegetation alongside SR 77 then trim overgrown shrubs and trees alongside SR 17. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Madison A crew hand sweep each intersection along SR 72. Lanes will be closed as this work occurs.

Stephens A crew spray overgrown vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 63. The shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.
