Gainesville man found guilty in 2013 shooting death

GAINESVILLE - Joseph Scott Williams was found guilty this afternoon in the 2013 shooting death of Adrian Thompson.
Williams was accused of shooting Thompson outside of the Pepper's Market last June. Thompson died that same day.
According to Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh, Williams was found guilty on most counts, including malice murder, two counts of aggravated assault , felony murder, two counts of possession of a fire arm during the commission of a crime and one count of terroristic threats.
"Not guilty verdicts were returned on two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and an additional terroristic threats count," said Darragh.
Darragh said sentencing had not been scheduled. "[It] is likely to take place sometime in mid-July."
