LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – The Atlanta Braves have announced the promotion of Juan Jaime from Triple-A Gwinnett. Jaime has been added to the Braves’ 25-man roster to replace right-hander Pedro Beato, who was placed on the disabled list on June 19. In addition, the Braves announced the promotion of right-hander James Hoyt to Gwinnett from Double-A Mississippi.

Jaime, 26, went 1-0 with 2.39 ERA (7 ER in 26.1 IP) and 13 saves in 27 games for the Gwinnett Braves in 2014. Prior to the promotion, Jaime was leading the G-Braves in saves and appearances.

The former Washington Nationals farmhand was signed by the Atlanta Braves as minor league free agent on August 29, 2011. This will be Jaime’s first time in the Major Leagues.

Hoyt, 27, went 2-2 with a 1.21 ERA (4 ER in 29.2 IP) and six saves in 27 relief appearances for the Mississippi Braves this season. As of his promotion, he led the team in saves, appearances and ERA. Hoyt was signed by the Atlanta Braves organization on November 15, 2012 after spending part of two seasons with three different independent league teams. The Boise, ID native spent his college career at Centenary College (LA).

After an off day, the G-Braves will return home Friday night to Coolray Field to begin a 10-game homestand.
