Brenau to host exhibition featuring Georgia fiber artists

GAINESVILLE - "Women's Work," an exhibition featuring contemporary fiber artists in Georgia, will be highlighted July 17, 5:30-7:00, at a reception celebrating the opening of the exhibit at Brenau University.

It will be held in the Simmons Visual Arts Center's Sellars Gallery.

The evening will include a panel discussion on the historical roles of women in the creation of textiles and fiber arts led by humanities scholar Dr. Heather Holliman and artist Jen Borg and a demonstration by the Georgia Mountain Handspinners Guild. It is free and open to the public. For more information, call (770) 534-6263.

The project is supported by the Georgia Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities and through appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly.
