CLAYTON - An Atlanta child was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Rabun County Tuesday afternoon.
Trooper 1st Class Casey Coffee of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa said the accident occurred on private property at Ramah Darom Camp near Clayton at 12:23 p.m.
A 2012 Lexus ES-300 driven by 67-year-old Louis Selwyn Lazarus of Longwood, Fla., was backing up when the driver lost control, Coffee said.
The Lexus struck a parked, unoccupied 2014 Nissan Altima in the rear, then struck the child and a parked, unoccupied 2005 Acura MDX, according to Coffee.
The child, identified as 12-year-old Zachary Evan Lavega of Atlanta, suffered lower extremity injuries and was taken by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center, Coffee said.
No charges were filed.
