GAINESVILLE, GA - The body found in a wooded area near Chestnut Street last week has been identified as 50-year-old Gregory Stinchcomb.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducted an autopsy, and determined that foul play was involved with his death, which is now being investigated as a homicide.

Corporal Joe Britte with the Gainesville Police says they haven't determined a cause of death yet, and they're asking anyone with information to come forward.

Britte said people should call in if they've seen "any suspicious vehicles, suspicious activity, or people in the area that wouldn't be there ordinarily."

If you have any information, call the Criminal Investigations Division at (770) 534-5254.
