GAINESVILLE - Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy in Gainesville has a new principal, following action by the Gainesville School Board Monday night.

Wesley Armstrong Roach comes to Gainesville from Excel Christian Academy in Cartersville. Roach also recently served as the principal of Calhoun Elementary School in Calhoun.

Incoming Superintendent Wanda Creel made the announcement of Roach's hiring after Monday's work session. Roach moves into the principal's office at Enota, following the resignation of Matt Maynor; Maynor is returning to his home town.

Creel said there were 18 applicants for the position and board members, along with member of Enota's School Governance Council, interviewed four candidates.

Creel noted that Roach, an educator with 20 years of experience, will be familiar with a charter system like the Gainesville system, since the Calhoun City Schools also have charter system status.

Roach is a graduate of Kennesaw State University. He also has degrees from Covenant College and Lincoln Memorial University, according to his resume.
