CLEVELAND - A child was airlifted and three other people were hurt in a single-car wreck east of Cleveland just before 10 a.m.

Sgt. 1st Class Chad Johnson of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville said the wreck involved a green 2000 Honda Civic that went out of control and overturned.

As the car overturned, a 9-year-old boy was ejected from the vehicle. That child, who Johnson said was conscious and talking, was airlifted from the scene to Children 'a Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

The mother, who suffered a head injury, was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A young girl and an infant also were taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The wreck remains under investigation by GSP Post 6.
