GAINESVILLE - State Schools Supt. candidate Ashley Bell of Gainesville plans a meeting in his hometown Tuesday night billed as a "thank you" and "rally" as the campaign enters it's final week before the May 20 primaries.

Bell is one of several Republicans seeking to fill the post being vacated by John Barge.

"We are closing out a hard worked campaign for Georgia School Superintendent," Bell said in announcing plans for the meeting. "Lauren (his wife) and I would like to thank everyone and rally our supporters for one final push right before the election. We have a great shot for success on May 20th, so we hope you will join us for an update and find out ways we could use your help over the next week."

The meeting will be at 5:30 at Scott's on the Square.
