ATLANTA (AP) -- Democrat Michelle Nunn is defending her positions on key issues and how she's been running her centrist campaign after facing criticism from her primary opponents during a debate.

The four candidates met for an Atlanta Press Club debate Sunday, just over a week before the May 20 primary.

It was the first time the four had met, something Nunn's opponents noted as they criticized her for not showing up at past events. Nunn's campaign has cited scheduling conflicts for her prior absences.

Nunn says her focus is on building bipartisan support on major issues. She says that while there are positive components to the federal health care law, she would work to improve it. She also says she supports the Keystone XL oil pipeline, something the two other candidates oppose.
