HOMER - The Banks County Sheriff's Office has arrested one of those who fled on foot following a vehicle chase that ended in a wreck in Franklin County Saturday night.
"At approximately 10:17 p.m., a Banks County deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the Banks Crossing area on a vehicle that was suspected as stolen," said Sgt. Carissa McFaddin.
When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled. Pursuit continued, ending on Highway 326 in Franklin County when the suspect's vehicle crashed into a fence line, McFaddin said. The driver and passengers fled on foot.
"Robert Ford, a passenger from the pursuit, is in custody," McFaddin said Sunday night. "A Franklin County deputy found him exiting the wood line near the wreck scene earlier this morning."
Additional investigation has led to the identity of others in the vehicle.
"The driver and additional passenger have been identified," McFaddin said. "Warrants will be obtained."
Names of the others identified have not been released.
