GAINESVILLE - Logan Allen and Rushir Parikh are current students at Chestatee High School, and are both very interested in mobile apps.

They've been involved with technology ever since they attended the da Vinci Academy. Since then they've been mentored by industry leaders and have been growing their passions in software engineering and design.

With the release of Docket, a calendar re-imagined for phones and tablets, Rushir and Logan hope to gain more experience and knowledge in the field of app development.

Docket is a calendar re-imagined for phones and tablets. By combining a minimalist style with a timeline-based stream of upcoming events, Docket makes it easy, the pair says, to see your upcoming events without having to specify the day.

Docket can be downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crusoe.docket.app

Allen, the lead developer for Docket, was the lead developer for an app for Fresenius Medical Care, a company with 55,000 employees. He just accepted an offer for a paid summer internship at Gather, a software startup in Atlanta, to work as a front-end software engineer. Allen is currently interning at TripLingo, another software startup in Atlanta, as a software developer and is re-imagining their translation app for use in a medical context. He previously worked as a freelance web developer and designer.

Parikh, the lead designer for Docket, has interned at Massive Health, and contributed to the design of The Eatery. He has studied user experience design with his mentor Aza Raskin, VP of Jawbone; through Aza he has learned a significant amount about the importance of user experience. He then interned at Teens in Tech, where he worked on web interfaces and designed their incubator and their YouTube page.

Parikh received a paid internship at BestFit Mobile working on mobile app design, and has led the design for two projects. Rushir’s most recent project has been for Fresenius Medical Care, a company that acts as the largest dialysis provider in the world.
