Cornelia man jailed in Hall Co. for auto theft

GAINESVILLE - A man arrested in Oakwood Saturday night may be responsible for an auto theft in Young Harris.
Law enforcement from Towns County, Hall County and the City of Oakwood are working on the case involving Bradley Jeremy Sutton, 34, of Cornelia.
Towns County authorities issued a press statement saying Sutton and an accomplice stole an automobile from a dealership in Young Harris. The statement indicated a 911 call alerted authorities to the theft and a BOLO was issued for the region.
That vehicle, according to the statement, was discovered in a Walmart parking lot in Oakwood Saturday after it became involved in an accident. Hall County authorities indicated the accident involved the vehicle and a pedestrian.
After a foot chase, Sutton was taken into custody and remains at the Hall County Jail. He has been charged with with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident and felony theft by taking.
Oakwood police are leading the investigation and at this point have not released a statement on the case.
