Work planned next week on two northeast Georgia interstates
By Ken Stanford Staff
GAINESVILLE – If you'll be heading north anytime on I-85 through northeast Georgia next week, better plan ahead for some delays.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) says routine maintenance is planned during the daylight hours all week from 7:00-5:00 in Jackson and Franklin counties and will require a lane closure.
Meanwhile, overnight work will continue in South Hall on a section of I-985 northbound between Georgia 347 and Spout Springs Road.
This work began last week but GDOT says weather limited the work. Repairing this section of interstate will likely take several weeks as weather permits. Work will continue next week Sunday-Thursday from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
