Auto firm plans expansion in southwest Georgia
By The Associated Press
BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (AP) -- State officials say an automotive manufacturer plans to invest $10 million in a new headquarters in southwest Georgia, eventually creating more than 200 jobs.
The expansion plans by Bainbridge Manufacturing LLC in Decatur County are expected to create 100 jobs in the first year, with a total of 240 jobs over the next decade.
The company is expected to add an additional 1.6 million square feet to an existing 180,000-square-foot facility in Decatur County, about 60 miles southwest of Albany. Officials say the headquarters will become the primary manufacturing center for the company. The company also plans to establish a research and development center at the southwest Georgia facility.
Bainbridge Manufacturing LLC supplies major automotive manufacturers such as Nissan, Toyota, Fiat, GM, CAT and John Deere.
