Suspect in surveillance stills
OAKWOOD - Oakwood Police Tuesday released surveillance stills of the man they believe stole jewelry from an antiques store on Mundy Mill Road.

According to Oakwood Police Investigator Danny Sridej, the suspect pretended to shop in Aardvark Antiques for at least an hour on Saturday, March 8, keeping his hands in his pockets.

Investigators believe the suspect unlocked a roll-up door to the building during his time in the store, according to Sridej. Police said the suspect returned the next evening, entered the store through the unlocked door and stole jewelry.

"He stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and did quite a bit of damage. He cut some wiring thinking he was disabling the security system. Luckily, he did not disable the system and we have video footage of the robbery (burglary)," store owner Charles Pharr said in an email to accessnorthga.com.

Investigators described the suspect as a white man in his early 50's with a medium build. Police believe the suspect is 180 to 210 pounds, 5'4" to 5'6" tall and walks like penguin.

Pharr said he's offering a $1000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Police ask anyone who may know the suspect to call (770) 534-2364. Investigators said citizens should not make contact with the suspect, but call 911 or their local authorities if they see him.
