Oakwood police charge man in pharmacy robbery
OAKWOOD - Oakwood police have now charged a man with the robbery of a CVS Pharmacy in the city about a year ago.
The suspect, Chris O'Neil Forrester, was already in jail, charged with a similar crime by Hall County authorities. Forrester was arrested last month for the New Year's Eve robbery at the pharmacy at the Ingle's Grocery Store on Winder Highway.
Oakwood police investigator Danny Sridej said his office was finally able to put together enough evidence to charge Forrester with the Oakwood crime. He said Forrester may be responsible for another robbery.
"The day the robbery happened at CVS within an hour and a half, the same suspect went to a pharmacy in the Suwanee jurisdiction and robbed a pharmacy there," said Sridej.
In both the Hall County and Oakwood cases, Forrester is said to have approached pharmacy employees and demanded narcotics. When he did not comply, he is said to have grabbed pharmaceuticals and fled.
Sridej said he believed Forrester remained in the Hall County Jail.
