Baseball: Red Elephants ride the home run ball past Mill Creek

GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville baseball team picked up a 9-6 win over Mill Creek on Friday at Ivey-Watson Field in Gainesville.

Michael Gettys earned the win on the mound, striking out nine batters and allowing four hits. Michael Curry also struck out two in relief.

Curry, Caleb Whitenton and Sims Griffith led the way for the Red Elephants (5-1) at the plate, each smacking home runs, while Brandon Sewell went 2-for-2.

Gainesville will play host to Apalachee on Monday.
