NGCF names new directors to board
GAINESVILLE – The North Georgia Community Foundation Board of Directors announces the addition of five new board members: Tim Darrah, Rob Fowler, Rusty Hopkins, Lona Paulos-Pope and Kevin J. Tallant.
Darrah, a Clayton resident, is retired from Carter & Associates, where he was senior vice president for property. He is president of the board of directors for F.A.I.T.H in Rabun County and an elder with the Nacoochee Presbyterian Church in Sautee Nachoochee.
Fowler is a partner with Turner Wood and Smith Insurance Company and a Gainesville resident. He has served as board chair of many service organizations including Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Rehabilitation Industries of Georgia, Gainesville Rotary Club, Boys Scouts of Northeast Georgia Council, the Salvation Army and Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
A partner with the Gainesville accounting firm Bates Carter, Hopkins has volunteered with several organizations including the Gainesville Jaycees, Gainesville Ballet, Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County, Elachee Nature Science Center and the Gainesville Estate Planning Council. In addition, Hopkins is a stewardship team leader and Sunday School teacher at Lakewood Baptist Church.
Pope, who lives in Gainesville, is a retired banker having served 25 years as vice president of marketing and public relations for Habersham Bancorp. She serves on the Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation Board of Directors, volunteers for Meals on Wheels and Good News at Noon. She is a former president of the Rotary Club ofHabersham County.
A founding partner of the Miles Patterson Hansford Tallant law firm in Cumming, Tallant currently serves on the Forsyth County Community Connection. He is past president of the Forsyth County Arts Alliance, an active member of Cumming First United Methodist Church and the Lanier Forsyth Rotary Club.
