Gainesville among top metro areas in country, according to new study

GAINESVILLE - SiteSelection.com has named Gainesville one of the top metropolitan areas in the country.

Gainesville comes in at number five for metro areas with a population of 200,000 or less. Sioux City, Iowa, Altoona, Penn., and Dubuque, Iowa, were tied for first and Odessa, Texas, came in fourth just ahead of Gainesville.

Heading the overall list is Chicago. Atlanta is fourth on the overall list.
