GDOT road maintenance plans for next week in NE Ga.

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia Department of Transportation announces routine maintenance activities planned for next week in northeast Georgia.

WHEN: Crews will work Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits. Lane closures are required for patching asphalt, a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.

WHAT & WHERE:

Dawson – A crew will trim vegetation and trees in the rights of way alongside SR 400. The shoulder will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will mow the slopes and inspect the pipes that run under SR 136 and SR 53.

Forsyth – A crew will fill cracks in the asphalt on SR 141. A lane closure is required as this work occurs and delays are expected. Another crew will mow the slopes and trim brush and trees inside the rights of way alongside SR 369, the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs and a lane closure is possible as well.

Gwinnett – A crew will patch damaged asphalt on I-85 and on SR 13, a lane will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will restripe faded pavement markings at the I-85 at Indian Trail Blvd. interchange, exit 101, then at SR 378/Beaver Ruin Rd. interchange exit 102 and at Steve Reynolds Blvd interchange exit 103.

Hall – A crew will trim brush and trees growing in the rights of way alongside SR 52 while another crew repairs the drainage structures that run under SR 53.

(In addition, another lane shift is planned next week, on Thursday, as part of the widening of Georgia 347 in southern Hall County. This one will take place from Spout Springs Road to Chateau Corners Drive.)

Banks –A crew will clean drainage structures underneath SR 63, SR 198 and SR 105. The shoulder of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs.

Elbert – A crew will service the driveways that intersect with SR 17 and damaged guardrail on SR 17 will be repaired.

Franklin – A crew will patch potholes on Interstate 85, lane closures will occur as this work occurs.

Hart – A crew will clean and restore the ditches alongside SR 51, the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs..

Madison – A crew will trim vegetation in rights of way alongside SR 8/US 29.

Stephens –A crew will mow the rights of way alongside SR 365, the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Barrow – A crew will install new raised pavement markers or RPMs along lane lines on SR 211 and SR 124. RPMs are the reflective “buttons” that delineate the lane lanes on state routes and interstates. A rolling lane closures will be in place as this work occurs. Vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 316 will be trimmed.

Clarke – The shoulders of SR 10 Loop will be repaired. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Crews will also hand sweep bridges on SR 10 Loop and SR 15 Alternate. A lane will be closed as this work occurs.

Jackson – A crew will repair drainage pipe, clean up the shoulders, trim brush growing in the rights of way alongside SR 82. The shoulders of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs on SR 82.

Oconee – A crew will install Raised Pavement Markers (RPMs) on SR 184, SR 24 business and SR 53. RPMs are the reflective “buttons” on the lane lines of the roadway. A lane closure is required as this work occurs. Another crew will repair drainage pipes under SR 82.

Walton – Edge rutting will be repaired alongside SR 138. Shoulder closures are required for each of these maintenance activities. Vegetation in the rights of way will be trimmed in rights of way and the roadway will be hand swept on SR 10.

Habersham – A crew will hand sweep bridges and intersection to remove gravel left over from the winter weather battle. A lane closure will occur as this work occurs.

Lumpkin – A crew will repair edge rutting alongside SR 9 towards Dawsonville. A lane closure will be required as the pipe is replaced.

Rabun – A crew will inspect the drainage system under SR 246 and repair the edge rutting alongside the edge of pavement. The shoulders of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs.

Towns – Damaged guardrail will be repaired on SR 2, SR 66 and SR 288. Another crew will mow the slopes in the rights of way alongside SR 2 and SR 17. The shoulder of the roadway will be closed as crews work.

Union – A crew will replace a pipe under SR 180 at six locations between Suches and Lake Winfield Scott. One lane will be closed as this work occurs.

White – A crew will mow the rights of way alongside SR 17 using an extension mower, the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.
