ATLANTA - Gov. Nathan Deal and Attorney General Sam Olens have announced that the state has hired a new firm to represent it in ongoing water dispute with Alabama and Florida.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Kazmarek Mowery Cloud Laseter LLP,” Deal and Olens said in a statement. “The expertise and experience of Skip Kazmarek and his partners will be a valuable asset" as litigation continues over the rights to water in Lake Lanier and elsewhere in the state.

“We are grateful to Bruce Brown, Todd Silliman, and John Allen for their dedicated service to the state of Georgia. Their legal counsel has been invaluable as we and our predecessors have worked to preserve Georgia's water rights. We wish them the best as they begin this new chapter in their practices.”

"We are honored to have the opportunity to represent the state of Georgia," said Kazmarek. "We look forward to working with the governor and the attorney general to ensure that Georgia has access to its fair share of natural resources."
