Ten Hall Co. Odyssey teams advance to state finals
FLOWERY BRANCH - C.W. Davis Middle School was host to 103 teams competing at the Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament on Saturday, March 1.
Teams came from all over the state of Georgia to compete - some from as far north as Trenton and Rome and as far south as Thomasville. The event was highly competitive with a number of solutions to the six different problems presented during the day.
Hall County Schools reported 10 teams will advance to the State Odyssey of the Mind Finals to at Columbus State University on March 29. The teams going to Columbus will be competing for an opportunity to attend Odyssey of the Mind World Finals to be held at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa May 28-31.
According to a press statement from the Hall County School District, the following teams will advance to State Finals:

1st place Da Vinci Academy @ SHMS
"Not So Haunted House"- Problem
2nd C.W. Davis Middle School
3rd West Hall Middle School
4th Da Vinci Academy @ SHMS
"It's How We Rule"-Problem
4th C. W. Davis Middle School
3rd Johnson High School
"Stackable Structure"-- Problem
1st Friendship Elementary
1st C. W. Davis Middle School
2nd Da Vinci Academy
"Seeing Is Believing" --Problem
3rd C.W. Davis Middle School
4th DaVinci Academy
Note: Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.
