GHS FCCLA competes in Region STAR Events Competition
GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville High School FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) competed in Region STAR Events Competition recently in Loganville.
Savannah Hecht won 1st place at region with her Food innovations Event "Easy Zucchini Muffins" and she will advance to state competition this month.
Iridian Pacheco and Sara Brown won 1st place at region competition with their Environmental Ambassador project "Efforts to Protect Drinking Water" and they also advance to state competition.
Areli Albarran and Gabriela Martinez won 1st place at region competition with their Life event planning event "Quiero mis Quince" and both will go on to state competition.
Alexandra Salgado and Lexis Wallace automatically advanced to state in their Advocacy event "Raising Awareness of the Effects of Alcohol and Drug Use on Maternal and Fetal Health and Nutrition."
Sammy Lara and Alondra Casanova automatically advanced to state in their Advocacy event "Bringing an End to Homelessness in Gainesville and Hall County"
Mikyria Maeweathers won 3rd place at region competition with her Teach and Train event from Centennial and she earned a silver medal.
