Nominations sought for Annual Agribusiness Awards
GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee awards program, a partnership with the Hall County Cooperative Extension, is seek nominations for the 2014 Agribusiness.
Nominations will be accepted through March 7 for the following categories:
Friend of Agribusiness... an individual who has consistently promoted agribusiness and agriculture in Hall County. (2013 Winner – Governor Nathan Deal)
Outstanding Agribusiness... a member of the agribusiness community who demonstrates significant presence and progress in this area. The agribusiness must have been in operation for at least five years to qualify for this award. (2013 Winner – Wilheit Packaging)
Farmer of the Year... a person who has made significant contributions to agribusiness and community services. (2013 Winner – Tommy Blackstock)
Ag Hall of Fame... this award is given to individuals each year (living or deceased) in recognition of sustained contributions to Hall County agriculture and agribusiness. (2013 Winner – Johnny Sutton)
The Agribusiness Recognition Awards will be presented during the Annual Breakfast on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30 at the North Hall Community Center. The event is sponsored by Jackson EMC.
