North Georgia sports schedules under adjustment due to weather
DAHLONEGA -– The forecasted wintry weather has forced the University of North Georgia to alter this week's schedule of athletic events and ceremonies. Check back at UNGAthletics.com for up-to-the-minute schedule adjustments and announcements. All UNG campuses are currently closed for today (Feb. 11) and Wednesday (Feb. 12).
The men's and women's basketball games with Francis Marion, scheduled for Thursday (Feb. 13), have been moved to Sunday (Feb. 16). The evening was also scheduled to be Spirit Night as well as a Make-A-Wish reveal for a local child. Both of those festivities have been moved to Wednesday, February 26 and will not be a part of Sunday's basketball games. The new game times for Sunday are 1:30 and 3:30 PM.
Saturday's basketball games with UNC Pembroke are unaltered and will move on as scheduled with the women's game at 1:30 and the men's tip off set for 3:30. The afternoon will also feature the Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony which is still scheduled for 11:30 AM in the UNG Dining Hall Banquet Room.
The women's tennis match at Brenau on Wednesday (Feb. 12) has been postponed. Both the men and women are still set to open Peach Belt Conference play on Saturday hosting Columbus State at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
The baseball team's three-game series at Pfeiffer, scheduled for Friday through Sunday, has not been changed as of Tuesday.
The UNG softball team's home opener with Lincoln Memorial on Saturday (Feb. 15) is also unchanged at this point.
The men's golf team withdrew from its final round at the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational on Tuesday to ensure the team's safe and timely travel back to the Dahlonega area.
