Next week's GDOT road maintenance plans in NE Ga. announced

GAINESVILLE, GA – The Georgia Department of Transportation announces routine maintenance activities planned for next week in northeast Georgia.

Crews will work Monday, February 10 through Friday, February 14. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits. Lane closures are required for patching asphalt, a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.

WHAT & WHERE:

Dawson – A crew will mow the slopes inside the rights of way on SR 136 and SR 183. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will repair the concrete driving surface or bridge deck on the SR 136 Bridge over the Chestatee River. A lane closure is required for this work.

Forsyth – A crew will fill cracks in the asphalt on SR 141. A lane closure is required as this work occurs and delays are expected. Another crew will trim brush and trees inside the rights of way alongside SR 369, the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs and a lane closure is possible as well.

Gwinnett – A crew will repair the shoulders then trim brush and trees growing inside the rights of way alongside SR 20, SR 10/US 78 and SR 13. Another crew will repair the drainage system for I-85 south at Old Peachtree Road, specifically crews will repair the drop inlet and valley gutter. The shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Hall – A crew will trim vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 52 and SR 369. The shoulder of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs and a lane closure is possible. Another crew will repair the shoulders of SR 365, closing the shoulder is required as this work occurs.

Barrow – A crew will trim vegetation growing inside the rights of way then clean the drains under SR 211 and SR 8. The shoulders of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs.

Clarke – A crew will repair the rutting that developed alongside the asphalt of SR 53, SR 186 and SR 15. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs. Another crew will patch potholes on SR 10 and SR 24, lane closures will be required as this work occurs.

Jackson – A crew will clean up the shoulders and trim brush growing in the rights of way alongside SR 82. The shoulders of SR 10 Loop will be repaired. The shoulders of the roadway will be closed as this work occurs on SR 82 and on SR 10 Loop.

A crew will inspect the cable barrier in the median of Interstate 85.

Oconee – A crew will install Raised Pavement Markers (RPMs) on SR 184, SR 24 business and SR 53. RPMs are the reflective “buttons” on the lane lines of the roadway. A lane closure is required as this work occurs.

Walton – A crew will trim vegetation growing inside the rights of way alongside SR 11 and SR 20. The curbing and gutters alongside SR 10/US 78 will be hand swept. Edge rutting will be repaired alongside SR 81 and SR 10. Shoulder closures are required for each of these maintenance activities.

Banks -A crew will manually clean and inspect the drainage structures for SR 15/US 441. The shoulder of SR 15 will be closed as this work occurs.

Elbert - A crew will service the driveways that intersect with SR 17. Another crew will restripe faded pavement markings on SR 17 and SR 72, a lane closure is required as this work occurs.

Franklin - A crew will inspect the drainage structures for SR 51 and SR 106. The shoulders alongside SR 198 will be repaired.

Hart - A crew will inspect the drainage structures and repair the rutting that has developed at the edge of the pavement for SR 172 and SR 77. Another crew will restripe faded pavement markings on SR 8, a lane closure is required as this work occurs.

Madison - A crew will trim vegetation in rights of way alongside SR 98 and SR 106 will be trimmed using an extension arm trimmer. Another crew will repair the driving surface or bridge deck on the SR 72 bridge over the Broad River, this work will require a lane closure.

Stephens -A crew will be sealing the joints on the SR 17 Alternate bridge over the railroad tracks. A lane closure will be required
