ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) Police in North Carolina have charged a teenager with attempted murder in the shooting of four youths earlier this week at a church playground.

Police say 17-year-old Shyheim Collins of Rocky Mount is charged as an adult with four counts of attempted first-degree murder after more than a dozen bullets were sprayed Monday into a crowd playing basketball at the Word Tabernacle Church.

Collins was being held Friday morning in the Nash County jail on a $4 million bond. He had not yet been assigned an attorney.

Twelve-year-old Nyreek Horne remains in critical condition after being shot in the head. Three other young males shot ages 13, 17 and 19 were all treated and released.

Police have not yet suggested a motive but say they expect to make other arrests.
