GAINESVILLE - The North Georgia Screamin’ Eagles will host the first Power Soccer tournament of 2014 at the Mulberry Creek Community Center on Sunday at 1:00.

The teams competing against the Screamin’ Eagles are the Athens Titans, Georgia Sting, West Georgia Mustangs, and the Charlotte Power Surge.

The Screamin’ Eagles have a new had coach this year - the team's founder Justin Pressley.

Pressley leads a veteran team that finished second-best in the country in 2011 and competes in the Champions Conference of the U.S. Power Soccer Association.

Austin Parker, a student at East Jackson High School brings a fast spin-kick, along with last year’s coach, Russell Gregory, and the team is anchored by longtime goalie Carlin Camp.

Pressley started the team in 2006, and in two tournaments this season the team’s record is 4-0-2, while giving up only three goals.

The Screamin' Eagles will travel to compete for the Conference Cup in Indianapolis in June.

To be eligible to play a person must have a mobility impairing disability, have a powerchair, and a specially made foot guard for use in hitting the ball.

The team is recruiting new players and sponsors. More information can be found on the team’s website or you can call Pressley at 770-540-0986. www.ngascreamineagles.org www.powersoccerusa.net
