OAKWOOD - A business fixture in Oakwood for nearly 30 years is closing its doors.

South Hall Paint & Decorating, in business for 28 years, is closing and Gainesville Paint will service its customers as of Saturday.

The owner, Jack Tims, is retiring and Gainesville Paint has acquired the company's inventory and will be servicing its customers at the Gainesville Paint location at 662 Main Street in Gainesville.

Any inquiries about past purchases, paint colors or Benjamin Moore products can be directed to Gainesville Paint starting Saturday.

“I’ll miss the people…definitely the people…especially the paint contractors and homeowners," Tims said. "I hope I’ve tinted my last gallon of paint, but I’m happy Gainesville Paint will take good care of my customers.”

Tony Paramore, owner of Gainesville Paint, commented, “Jack has been a mentor since we bought Gainesville Paint and I’m honored he trusts us to provide the same great customer service his customers expect…and he’s still just a phone call away.”
