Girls basketball: North Forsyth nips Centennial to stay unbeaten
ALPHARETTA – North Forsyth survived a two-point second quarter to beat Centennial in a nail-biting 54-53 win on the road Tuesday night.
The victory kept the Lady Raiders (17-0, 7-0 Region 6-AAAAAA) in region play and atop the standings.
North Forsyth opened strong with a 20-7 first quarter but was held to just two points in the second quarter as Centennial (10-6, 3-4) trimmed the lead 22-21 by halftime. The two teams played to a draw in the second half.
Avery Scarbrough poured in 18 points to go with 12 rebounds, two steals and one assist to pace North Forsyth. Caroline Bowns had 15 points and eight rebounds and Lochlain Corliss added 14 points, seven steals, and four assists for the Lady Raiders.
The Lady Raiders will travel to Johns Creek on Friday for the second of three straight road games
